Planning a Pilates space: what to measure

From the entrance to accessory storage, plan around everyday use.

Document the room

Prepare a measured plan with walls, openings, columns and doors shown open. Record ceiling height when considering towers. Add photographs from several angles to reveal constraints the plan may miss.

Plan access and movement

Mark the full dimensions of your selected models. Review circulation and equipment access with the instructor; floor area alone does not determine how many stations will work.

Make room for accessories

Boxes, jumpboards and mats need a place when not in use. Include accessible storage and check the equipment delivery route from the building entrance to the room.
